Linear Shafts:

Also known as shaft or shafting, linear shaft is a heat treated, turned, ground and polished rounded metal. Typically used in conjunction with a linear bushing within a linear motion system, the hardened and ground surface of the shaft allows the bushing’s rolling elements to smoothly run along the shaft diameter without damaging it, therefore providing a long life for the system.

Drilling, cutting and machining a case-hardened shaft can be a difficult process so to assist the engineer MISUMI shafts can be ordered in 1mm length increments and offer a vast amount of tapped end configurations as well as other material and hardening options.
