Position Description:
|
This position is responsible for the sale of Misumi Factory Automation products to assigned target accounts in a specified territory. This position assists the National Sales Manager in making suggestions and recommendations of sales strategies. This position sells Misumi's products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products to their needs resulting in increased sales volume and revenue generation. Insures high post-sales satisfaction facilitating positive relationships.

Job Responsibilities:
|
- Responsible for setting account plans on an annual, quarterly, and/or monthly basis.
- Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the assigned customer's sales volume.
- Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
- Calls on company representatives such as design engineers, mechanical engineers, buyers or other professional and technical personnel. There will be no cold calling.
- Travel will be at least 60% of the time
- Makes PowerPoint presentations to prospective customers communicating a complete understanding of the products available from Misumi, and the Misumi business model.
- Ensures each customer fully understands how to use the catalog, order parts and how to use our downloadable CAD data.
- Reports to the National Sales Manager on a weekly basis by submitting call reports that detail the names of companies and individuals in the company called on and the results of the meetings.
- Reports to the National Sales Manager on a weekly basis highs and lows for the week.
- Forecasts the types of assembly components being considered for purchase and the estimated dollar volume.
- When requested, assists the accounting department with large outstanding accounts receivable issues in their territory.
- Interacts with defined customers and recommends products to be included in the Misumi product line that will help the company grow the factory automation business unit.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be required from time-to-time.

Competency Requirements:
|
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related area is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial experience. Experience in selling mechanical components in automation/assembly equipment is preferred.
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in Goldmine or other CRM software.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Competency Requirements:

- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or mechanical engineer.
- Entry level (1-3 years work experience) of press dies, plastic mold and steel industry especially automotive field preferred
- Prior sales experience to tool or die making companies or metal stamping company preferred.

- Strong performance record in achieving results
- Prior experience working with Korean companies a plus.
- Logical thinking and analytical skills required.

Interfaces with all departments and provides engineering support to internal and external customers. Plays a key role in supplier/inventory management and sales/marketing efforts. Acts as liaison between USA subsidiary office and Japanese headquarters.

Job Responsibilities:
|
- Facilitates communication between USA subsidiary office and Japan based HQ
- Communicates regularly via phone/email with Japanese speaking HQ staff for a variety of topics (technical product questions, operational issues, etc…)
- Translates emails/documents sent from HQ office and distributes to appropriate USA office personnel.
- Provide technical and sales support to internal and external customers
- Answer product related questions via phone/email
- Create and present sales/marketing/training materials via webinar, seminar, or customer visitation
- Cross reference competitor products or customer drawings to Misumi catalog products
- Responsible for proofreading/creation of catalog/marketing materials
- Proofread catalog pages and marketing materials for accuracy and content (web and print)
- Create catalog pages and marketing materials as assigned (web and print)
- Draft technical articles related to Misumi product for use in industry publications, Misumi’s website, and Misumi newsletters

Responsible for development of new products. Provides engineering support to customer and internal organization.

Job Responsibilities:

- Communicates between US and Headquarters in Japan on a regular basis.
- Work on new catalog projects containing creation of catalog pages, technical specifications, pricing tables, dimensional tables, extensive translation and proofreading.
- Ensure compliance to quality and work with the customer service and procurement on quality claims.
- Meet or talk with customer in regards to quality claims.
- Work with suppliers on corrective action for nonconforming products.
- Work with customers on establishing the required specifications for potential new product.
- When developing new product work with suppliers on manufacturing requirements, packaging, pricing delivery, workflow, first article inspection when needed.
- Assist Procurement department in other vendor maintenance and research.
- Help with maintaining and development of company website.
- Work with CAD suppliers and solve quality issue with CAD data
- On occasions help verify the new CAD data created by CAD vendor.
- Work on special quotations for customers requiring components outside the catalog specs.
- Review quote requests and decide manufacturing feasibility.
- Help customers expedite manufacturing in special cases.
- Answer customer phone calls/emails regarding technical support.
- Work with customers and create cross reference charts for customer products
- Provide help to the Sales personnel regarding technical issues and Customer support.
- Visit, support and help maintain Major Misumi accounts.
- Present the technical portions of Lunch and Learns and help with technical answers,
- Sometimes may be a part of periodical inventory process at the QCT center.
- Help translate or create technical/marketing materials/ brochures
- Internal Training – Create and present training material to Sales, Customer Service, Inside Sales and other internal groups
- Writing Articles about the company that can be published is always encouraged
- Create presentation materials for Customer Visits, Show seminars and Webinars
- Conduct Webinars or Seminars for customers
- May be involved in Tariff code setting for new and existing products
- Required to create technical entries to Engineering Blog on Misumi’s website
- Travel 1-4 days average per month.
- Other duties like product, customer search, inspection, quoting as requested by Manager.
